Where We Dive - The Jewels Of The North Pacific

Diving in Guanacaste, Costa Rica
We operate in the North Pacific of Costa Rica, an area known for volcanic formations, strong currents, and large marine life. Our main dive areas include:
-
Catalina Islands – seasonal manta rays, eagle rays, turtles, white tip reef sharks, large schools of fish and many more.
-
Murcielago "Bat" Islands (seasonal) – advanced dives with pelagic encounters, well known for diving with bull sharks, manta ray encounters and large schools of fish
Conditions vary throughout the year, which allows us to match dive sites to diver experience and comfort level, making private guiding especially valuable in this region.

Diving Style - How Our Private Diving Works
Personalized Diving, Not Mass Tourism
Every dive with Uncharted Diving Expeditions is planned individually. We take into account:
-
Certification level and experience
-
Recent diving history
-
Comfort in currents and depth
-
Personal interests (marine life, photography, relaxed dives)
This approach allows us to slow things down for newer divers or step things up for more experienced ones, always prioritizing safety and enjoyment.

Who We Dive With - An Experience For All Levels

From first-time divers to experienced explorers
This is a great fit if you are:
-
A certified diver looking for personal attention
-
A couple, family, or small group traveling together
-
A newer diver who prefers a calm, unrushed experience
-
An experienced diver who values flexibility and site selection
This may not be the right fit if you are:
-
Looking for large group diving
-
Focused only on the lowest price
-
Expecting a resort-style, high-volume operation
Our focus is quality, safety, and personalized service, not volume.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions About Our Private Diving Services
Do I need to be certified to go on a private scuba diving trip?
No. We offer Discover Scuba / introductory dives with a private guide for first-time divers, you’ll get instruction, safety orientation, gear, and guided dives tailored to you
Can beginners and experienced divers dive together on a private trip?
Yes. Private trips can include divers of different experience levels. We tailor the dive plan to everyone’s comfort and ability, and will discuss the best approach when you book
What dive sites do you go to?
We typically dive the Catalina Islands, Murcielago Islands (seasonal), and select offshore sites in Guanacaste. Site choice depends on experience level, conditions, and what you’re hoping to see.
Is the equipment included?
Yes. Our private scuba packages include all standard dive gear: mask, fins, regulator, BCD, wetsuit, tanks, weights, etc. We also offer nitrox upon request if you are certified for it.
How many dives are included?
Most private dive days include two guided dives, tailored to your goals and conditions. If you want a custom schedule (e.g., single dive or photography-focused timing), just let us know.
How many divers per guide?
We keep groups small — typically 1–4 divers per guide — to ensure safety, quality briefings, and personalized attention.
What should I expect in terms of dive conditions?
Conditions vary seasonally. Currents, visibility, and marine life sightings depend on the site and weather. We review conditions with you before the dive and choose the safest, best option for your experience level.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. If conditions aren’t suitable for the planned dive site, we’ll select a safer alternative or reschedule. We’ll always communicate clearly before departure.
Can I book transportation or accommodation through you?
While we don’t directly provide transport or lodging, we’re happy to help you plan logistics or recommend trusted partners in the area.
